The PhytoTank air filter helps prevent contamination of your phytoplankton culture by filtering out unwanted microbes from the air stream. The durable, laboratory grade filter is compatible with standard ¼ inch aquarium tubing. It is important that you make sure your aquarium air pump has a clean prefilter in order to get the longest useable time for this in-line air filter. Depending on the environmental conditions around your air pump this filter can last for more than a year. If you notice a decline in the air volume bubbling in the PhytoTank, then the air filter should be replaced.
